Esiquio “Zeke” Lara

I lived and grew up around Pascua. I started my school career at Lawrence Elementary, Pistor Middle School, and graduated from Cholla Magnet High School in 1986. After high school, I wanted to join the Armed forces but never did after breaking my leg. I met my wife at Pistor but didn’t actually get together until 1990 and married in 1994. We have been married for 30 years and are going strong. I have 7 children and four grandchildren. I’ve worked in multiple fields, but most of my career has been in behavioral health and school settings. I like taking trips with my wife, drawing, and working on my 1994 Chevy Blazer. I have been lucky enough to start working at Higher Ground where I can make a bigger contribution to my Pascua Yaqui tribal community.
